With the 48th overall selection of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals drafted former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon. Many experts considered Mixon to be a "first round" talent, but given Mixon's previous incident in 2014 where he punched out a female student, teams considered him to be a potential off-the-field liability.

Mixon was first team All-Big 12 this past season with 1,274 yards rushing while averaging nearly 7 yards per carry. In addition, he ranked top five nationally with 194 all-purpose yards per game in 2016.

Mixon also settled his civil suit regarding the 2014 altercation in the past week.

(UPDATE: 8:19 p.m.) The Bengals released a statement on behalf of longtime head coach Marvin Lewis regarding Mixon.
