Meet the Sooners Day set for August 5th

One of the most popular traditions surrounding the Oklahoma football program, the 2017 version of Meet the Sooners Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. This annual, free event gives OU fans a unique opportunity to interact with their favorite players.

This year's event falls on a Saturday for a seventh consecutive year. While OU appreciates the tremendous support from Sooners fans of all ages, in order to accommodate as many young fans as possible, Meet the Sooners Day will again be offered to children ages 14 and younger. Each child may be accompanied by a maximum of one adult, but adults will not be permitted to submit items for autographs.

Each child may bring one item to be signed, and there will be no exceptions.

A line for the general public will form at Gate 5 on the stadium's northwest corner beginning at 8:30 a.m. The line will flow under the Asp Avenue Parking Facility on the west side of the stadium.

Check-in for pre-registered Sooner Jr. Kids Club members begins at 8:30 a.m. at Gate 7 (northeast corner). Sooner Jr. Kids Club members will receive their official membership package at that time before moving to the autograph lines under the stadium. The membership package includes an official membership lanyard, credential and Nike Dri-FIT shirt.

Registration for the Sooner Jr. Kids Club is currently available and online applications can be submitted on the Sooner Jr. Kids Club page. In order to gain early admission to the autograph lines, registration must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 3. Kids Club memberships are just $30 per child.

As has been the case for several years, the Sooner Jr. Kids Club autograph session will begin 30 minutes prior to the general public session. The Kids Club autograph session will begin at 10 a.m., while general patrons will be admitted at 10:30 a.m. The session will conclude at noon for everyone.

Public restrooms will be available for fans in attendance. Please note that concessions stands will not be serving food, but free water will be available. Patrons will also be allowed to bring their own bottled water to the event, but no other outside food or beverage items will be permitted.

The OU Bookstore and the OU Athletics Ticket Office will both open at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. In addition to OU players and coaches signing autographs, the Sooner Schooner (with Boomer and Sooner) will be on hand for photographs.

Free parking will be available in campus lots and the Asp Avenue facility.
