Tailgating no longer allowed along Lindsey Street during OU games
NORMAN, Okla. (KOKH) —
As the Sooners prepare to kick off the season this weekend, fans will no longer be able to tailgate along Lindsey Street.
The university recently released its updated map of areas permitted for tailgating, which for the first season blocked tailgating along Lindsey Street just south of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
OU states that the removal of tailgating along Lindsey is due to university policy. OU's says their tailgating policy is designed to ensure the following:
- The comfort and enjoyment of game day patrons;
- The safety, security, and well-being of all people associated with game day activities, and
- The safeguarding and preservation of all public property under the management of the University.
OU kicks off the season at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 2 against UTEP.
