Hi! My name is Caroline Brown and I joined Channel 8 in May 2018. You can catch me doing the weekend weather and sometimes during the week too! I’m a sixth-generation Texan, born and raised in Houston, but have been in Oklahoma the past four years.
My love for weather began when I was 4 years old and only continued to grow. I went to meteorology summer camps throughout middle school and tracked every storm in the tropics for years. I was infatuated with tropical systems in my early years as Hurricane Rita hit my hometown when I was 10, then Hurricane Ike hit when I was 13. On my 14th birthday I got my very own anemometer/rain gauge – I was so happy I cried!
OU was my dream college for their outstanding meteorology program and the National Weather Center being on campus, so my senior year I only applied to one school. I was on-air at OU Nightly for two years, and I also interned with KPRC Click 2 Houston and Fox 25 in Oklahoma City. In May 2018 I graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Meteorology and minors in Mathematics and Broadcast Journalism.
When I’m not out chasing storms or checking the radar I enjoy running, cooking and playing with my Bordoodle (border collie poodle mix) Stormy. Check out her Instagram @Stormytheweatherdog. I grew up in a backpacking family so being outside hiking and camping are some of my favorite ways to vacation.
