From Meteorologist Molly McCollum:
Mostly Sunny, Hot & Humid
Wind: SW 5-15
Partly cloudy, muggy
Wind: S 10-15
It will be very mild out the door this morning with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Friday will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s. With all of the moisture in the area on Friday it will feel like the mid to upper 90s outside in the afternoon. There is a small chance for a thunderstorm late Friday night into Saturday morning mainly northeast of the metro.
Saturday morning will start off muggy and mild with morning lows in the low 70s. Strong to severe storms are likely in the late afternoon and early evening hours on Saturday. Gusty winds, very large hail and a few tornadoes are all a possibility. If you have outdoor activities planned for Saturday stay weather aware!
The second half of the holiday weekend looks great! It will be warm and dry with highs in the 80s.
In the extended forecast, we will see more storm chances by the second half of next week.
