Cooler than normal weather to continue
This week has been the coolest week in August, so far. Highs have generally ranged from 80 to 90 degrees. Temperatures will remain below normal through the next 14 days, as depicted on the attached map.
This is very similar to last August, where around the 10th of the month, we hit 100 degrees and never reached it again that summer. This August appears to be following the same pattern. While it's not uncommon to see 100-degree heat in September, it's not likely to occur this year due to the current weather pattern. If summer ended today, we would have seen seven 100-degree days.
Summer breaks like this rarely have any correlation to a cooler or warmer winter.
