The Tulsa Dream Center hosted a ribbon cutting on August 20 for its new pool and splash pad.

Remarks were delivered by Executive Director Tim Newton, Board of Director Paul Daugherty, City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper, and Deputy Mayor Cassia Carr.

This indoor pool is primarily designed to teach swimming lessons, with programming integrated into the Dream Center's after-school tutoring and summer camps.

TDC also plans to train teenagers to become lifeguards to help provide them with job skills.

The splash pad will be a fun place where Oklahoma families can get wet, cool off, and beat the heat in the summer.

This project cost $1.5 million and was made possible with the help of over 1,000 donors. The pool and splash pad was built by Tulsa-based Thompson Construction.
