Justin Allgood Returns To Tulsa Talons
The all-time leading passer in Tulsa Talons history is returning to the team.Justin Allgood was acquired through a trade with the Philadelphia Soul for wide receiver Rodney Wright, who was then sent to San Jose for offensive lineman Patrick Afif."Justin's a talent and he's from Oklahoma, so that made that a natural fit," Philadelphia General Manager Tom Goodhines told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Being able to get a player with Rodney Wright's value allows us to address a need along the offensive line."In four seasons with the Talons, Allgood passed for nearly 13-thousand yards and 309 touchdowns -- both records. He was the quarterback during Tulsa's 2007 AF2 championship run.He signed with Philadelphia in the off-season and started for the Soul in the team's first three games. But, Ryan Vena has started since and Allgood has played in just two of the past six games due to injuries and inconsistency. In all, Allgood has passed for 1,016 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.Tulsa began the season with former Oklahoma State quarterback Bobby Reid, but after three straight losses, rookie Matt Bassuener took over and has led the Talons to a 4-and-2 record.Tulsa plays Saturday at home against the Kansas City Command.
