Jury selection got underway Tuesday in the trial of a woman accused of neglecting to get medical attention for her son, who died nearly three years ago. Susan Grady is charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of her nine-year-old Son, Aaron. Prosecutors say Grady chose prayer over medical help when her son became ill in June 2009. Aaron died June 5, 2009 from complications of diabetes. According to court documents, he had been sick for several days. Grady's attorney calls the charges a challenge to faith. Prior to jury selection Tuesday, attorneys argued over which photos should be allowed in court. Prosecutors contend photos of the boy in an "emaciated and deteriorating state" speak toward accusations of neglect. The trial is expected to take all week. Channel 8's Yvonne Harris was in court Tuesday and will have more on this case as well as other possible cases involving the same church.
