Salvation Army Bus Destroyed by Fire

A Salvation Army bus was set ablaze at approximately 12:30 Saturday morning. Shawnee Fire Dept. responded to report of fire and quickly extinguished the fully engulfed vehicle.

The bus was parked in the Salvation Army's bus lane at the corner of Union Ave. and 9th Street in downtown Shawnee

This bus is used daily by The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club to pick-up children from seven area schools for our after school program. Additionally, the bus is used to transport individuals for weekly worship services, youth character building programs, youth and young adult camp programs and transport of social service clients.
