State Senator Rick Brinkley To Resign At End Of Year
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) —
Republican State Senator Rick Brinkley has submitted a letter of resignation.
A Senate spokesman says Brinkley plans to step down from the District 34 seat on December 31st and that Brinkley cites personal reasons for the decision.
Brinkley is being sued by the Better Business Bureau in Tulsa. He is accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the organization. No criminal charges have been filed.
Brinkley was first elected to the Senate in 2010 and was unopposed for re-election in 2014.
