Update: Deputy Accused of Sexual Assault Resigns

A Tulsa County sheriff's deputy who was accused of sexual assault and indecent exposure resigned this morning as investigators search for more victims.

According to a statement released by the sheriff's office, an investigation was launched into the conduct of 26-year-old Gerald Nuckolls after a report of inappropriate behavior.

"It's been a real punch in the gut for us," Undersheriff Tim Albin said. "There's a real sense of betrayal."

Nuckolls was arrested Tuesday night. He was notified Wednesday morning he was being placed on administrative leave without pay. He resigned an hour later, Albin said.

Albin said Tuesday investigators believe there may be additional victims and encouraged anyone within information to contact the sheriff's office at (918) 596-5601 or Call Rape at 918-743-5763.

In Nuckolls' booking report, the victim told investigators that Nuckolls arrived at the victim's home to investigate a 911 hang-up call. Nuckolls reportedly pulled the victim into his patrol unit and began questioning her about drugs in the residence.

The victim consented to a search of the home and Nuckolls found nothing. According to the probable cause report, Nuckolls' told the victim he was "going to take a piss" and began to urinate near the garage.

The victim told investigators that Nuckolls began to ask her inappropriate questions and pulled on the victim's clothing. He reportedly then exposed himself to the victim.

Another woman at the residence told the first victim that Nuckolls also exposed himself to her. According to the report, Nuckolls told the second woman that if she touched his genitals, her boyfriend would stay out of jail. Nuckolls reportedly then told the victim he would return to the home once his shift had ended to check on her. The victim told investigators she felt threatened by Nuckolls' actions.

Nuckolls was taken in for questioning this afternoon. According to the report, Nuckolls told investigators that he did use the bathroom on the side of the residence, he exposed himself and that he touched one of the victims inappropriately.

Nuckolls reportedly said he had a problem with pretty women that he as met and has had sexual type activity with about six different women on traffic stops or calls. He also told investigators that he has exposed himself and sent nude pictures or obtained nude pictures of women, according to the report.

According to the probable cause report, Nuckolls told investigators that after his encounter with the victim, he went to O'Brien Park and masturbated.

Nuckolls is being held for sexual assault and battery complaints. His bond has been set at $60,000.
