Zeppelin Says Good-bye to Green Country
On Friday, August 7, Tulsa's Channel 8 will say goodbye to Tulsa's very first female chief meteorologist, Jennifer Zeppelin.
Zeppelin and her family are moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where her husband has accepted a job as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at Creighton University. He previously worked at the Oklahoma State University Foundation in Stillwater.
She says leaving Oklahoma is bittersweet.
"I have gained many new friends while in Tulsa, especially the wonderful colleagues at Tulsa's Channel 8, and I'm grateful for how the community as a whole has been so wonderful to my family and me."
She says her and her family have created many memories here in Oklahoma.
"My family and I have loved living in Tulsa, and it's always difficult to leave an area with so much to offer, but this is a wonderful opportunity for my husband and it will allow me to spend more time with my family."
During her time here in Green Country, Zeppelin has covered big weather events like the 2013 Moore tornado, the 2012 derercho and this year's record setting rainfall.
Zeppelin first joined KTUL in December 2011. She previously worked as a meteorologist in Denver, Colorado.
She holds Seals of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
