Waiting Child: Eating Candy with Mary

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — You've heard the expression, like a kid in a candy store...that's exactly how it was for Mary as we toured Pinkitzel's in Tulsa. She needed just one word to describe our tour, thanks to Madison at their downtown store.

"Awesome!" she exclaimed.

Pinkitzel's has everything from cupcakes to cotton candy to toys that also smell like fruit.

11 Years old and Mary is excited about school.

"Because I get to play the flute. I always wanted to play the flute and it was at the top of my list," she said.

Now in the sixth grade, she also has another class she's excited about.

"Lunch because I get to hang out with my friends instead of hanging around a classroom and staying bored."

She's a good student, friendly and polite and also pretty sure about what she wants to be in the future.

"Vet because I love animals. And a cop, because I'll be doing something good for my community."

Right now she's probably leaning towards being a vet, primarily because of her love for horses.

"Because you can do a lot of stuff with them...braid their mane, braid their tail. You can do real cute designs, you can ride them, you can play with them, you can train them, there's a lot of stuff you can do with them"

Mary is also pretty specific on what she wants in a forever family.

"Little sister or brother that's my age and live in the country. Some areas don't allow pets." So that's pretty important.
