Waiting Child: Pumpkin Town with DJ

Pumpkin Town Farms was exactly what 12 year old Diajhane thought it would be like; A whole lot of fun, from kissing camels to the stomach churning rat roller. And if you happen to get tired of rolling around, there was the Thunder Mountain slide or a relaxing hay ride. All part of the Halloween season Diajhane, or DJ as she likes to be called, loves for one important reason."The Candy!" DJ says with a chuckle.

DJ, who's now in 5th grade, loves school. Her favorite subjects include reading, writing, and math.

DJ knows how tough life can be, even at her young age, and says that's why she wants to help others." I would like to be the kind of person that talks to younger kids about how DHS is and how hard life can be you know." And it's easy for her to explain why it's something she really wants to do. "Because I don't want them to go through the same as I did, It doesn't feel good inside."

As for a family, DJ's quite set on parents who care. "I don't like parents that just ignore you and are just like - you can go and do this on your own and stuff like that."
