I grew up in Green Country with the news buzzing in the background. I learned the importance of storytelling during severe weather coverage and breaking news from Tulsa journalists. My family and I had the news on every morning and night.
I graduated from Skiatook High School. I was involved in student leadership and enjoyed being the person people turned to for answers and speaking on behalf of my class. By senior year, I was shooting and editing videos using a GoPro to pump up the students ahead of Friday night football games.
I knew I wanted to positively impact communities and my passions brought me to Loyola University New Orleans. I earned a degree in mass communication with a focus in journalism. While at Loyola, I interned with CBS This Morning Saturday in New York City and WDSU-TV, the NBC affiliate in New Orleans. I also worked at WWL-TV, the CBS affiliate, on the assignment desk.
Although I love New Orleans, (Geaux Saints!) I was thrilled to get the opportunity to report on the communities I know and love in Green Country.
I look forward to telling your stories! Email me with story ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
