As this year comes to a close, I spoke to Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway about which of the administration’s accomplishments she is most proud of in 2018. Here’s what she told me:

KELLYANNE CONWAY: Two words: peace and prosperity. Through the president's overtures and indeed engagements with leaders from all over the globe, whether it's been the bilateral meetings he's hosted and that he's attended, or the multilateral meetings like the G20 or the G7. He has made a difference in terms of this country's security and the president's first and foremost duty is to keep us all safe.

So, whether it's border security, national security on our southern border and his policies there, Boris, or it's the way he's trying to broker peace and calm around the world. Sitting down with the head of North Korea with the head of Russia, the head of China, because the president believes you have to have conversations and not confrontation, if at all possible, to keep us peaceful but also prosperous. And that's the second piece of this. Even the president’s most virulent critics, somehow crazed by their vituperative ways, should admit grudgingly that this president has presided over nothing short of an economic boom.

I talk to people every single day across this country who feel their lives are more prosperous—they have more money in their pockets and with that money comes freedom and choices. So, people feel that they are more peaceful and that they are more prosperous. And those are really the two best things the president has done overall.

Here’s the bottom line: Peace and prosperity are exactly what our country needs. Let’s hope that 2019 brings even more successes for all Americans.
