The Bartlesville Police Department is once again offering a service to community members this St. Patrick's Day to prevent drunk drivers from getting out onto the roads.

From 10 p.m. on March 17 to 2 a.m. on March 18, residents who need a ride within the city limits of Bartlesville can call dispatch at (918) 338-4001 and request a free ride home from the department.

BPD officers will come to your location and give you a safe, sober ride home.

Bartlesville Police Chief Tracy Roles says the goal of the event is to prevent drunk drivers from driving in the city.

BPD offered to give rides home last New Year's Eve as well, and ten people took the department up on their offer.

For more information about the offer, call Bartlesville Police Captain Andrew Ward at (918) 338-4050.
