TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Baking Memories 4 Kids is a nonprofit that provides children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses and their families, with an all-expense paid dream vacation to Orlando, Fla.
Children will go for one week and be free to enjoy life as a kid.
These trips give families much-needed time for healing, adventure, hope, and memories.
A grant provided by Share the Dough Foundation was able to help a local Tulsa family receive a vacation of their very own.
Through their various fundraising efforts, Share the Dough, a foundation associated with Manna Development Group, a franchise of Panera Bread, can financially assist local families in need and bring about change in their communities.
Jacob Vazquez is a now 6-year-old who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June of 2021.
He has not had a "normal" childhood ad has spent the last two years traveling to and from Tulsa to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Jacob has gone for tests and intense treatments for his tumor that has destroyed his pituitary gland.
Before he leaves for his next round of treatments, Jacob and his family were surprised with the news that they will be heading south.
On Jan. 18, the family was surprised and honored at a local Panera location with their free trip to Orlando.
