TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Some Tulsans gave up a few hours of their Sunday to help the homeless at the Tulsa Day Center.
Members of the Atheist Community of Tulsa served up a homemade meal this evening.
They spent the day making beef stew and cornbread at home and then brought it to the Day Center and served it to folks in need.
"An atheist believes a good deed must be done rather than a prayer said," said Atheist Community of Tulsa president Jay Hoverter.
The Atheist Community of Tulsa serves dinner at the Day Center every other month.
The need is so big members said they wish they had the resources to do more.
