A woman accused of neglect after her husband's decaying body was found in their Stillwater home has been charged.

Jennifer Lynn Denton, 26, was charged Dec. 5 with neglect by caretaker, financial neglect by caretaker and two counts of cruelty to animals. She will be in Payne County court Dec. 6 to continue her initial appearance.

Denton was arrested Nov. 28 in Sayre after the body of her disabled husband, 49-year-old Wade Denton, was discovered with "several months decay" inside a home in the 4100 block of E. 19th Avenue. Two dogs were also found dead in the home.

Suffering from total blindness and without a cell phone to call for help, Wade died in the home with two dogs that partially consumed his body. Wade's body was discovered Nov. 19.

Court documents show that Denton used her husband's social security payments during the time of the neglect. These were used to pay for her boyfriend's cell phone bills as far back as February.
