OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Country Roads Animal Rescue Society (CRARS) is looking for a foster home for a mom and her pups after their owners threatened to throw them off a bridge and kill them.
The rescue said they received a female dog, Briar, and her nine puppies after their previous owners threatened to kill the dogs if CRARS didn't take them off of their hands.
CRARS said upon receiving Briar and her pups, they noticed they were covered in ticks and were underweight.
"Their option was to murder nine puppies and their mom, all because they did not spay their female dog," CRARS said in an Instagram post. "We are outraged and heartbroken that this reality even exists in the world."
CRARS said they took the dogs into their care, but they don't have an available facility for them and are in desperate need of a foster home.
There are four puppies still in need of a foster home, and Briar is headed to boarding on May 9 if a foster home can't be found, according to the rescue.
The rescue said the puppies can be separated, but they prefer to keep them in pairs so they have a sibling.
