SEMINOLE, Okla. (KOKH) — Two people have been arrested in connection to the 2006 disappearance of a young Seminole County boy.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office reports that Rex and Rebecca Clark have been arrested in connection to the 2006 disappearance of their nephew 9-year-old Colton Clark in Seminole. Rex and Rebecca served as foster parents for both Colton and his brother Homer.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrived at the property just south of Seminole at 5 a.m. to execute the search warrants on the property. A look at the property shows "No trespassing" signs. Neighbors, like Jennifer and Sheila Cox says it is just a glimpse into the lives of Rebecca and Rex Clark.
"It makes you sick inside when you hear them digging. You're like are they going to find him now? Or are they going to find something else?" Jennifer said.
The Cox family lives right across the street from where Colton went missing.
"We had already started living here when I heard about the missing child. I was just floored," Shiela said.
FOX 25 spoke with Rebecca Clark days after Colton's disappearance in 2006.
"I had to pull myself up and get a hold of myself and say, you gotta find Colt," Clark said.
The Seminole County Sheriff had no comment Friday but the District Attorney said the case was re-opened in September 2015. When asked if he was surprise, neighbor Brent Cox gave a resounding "no".
"They're pretty well to themselves. I've met him out in the driveway getting their mail, they won't even wave to you or nothing," Brent said.
Investigators could be seen digging all day as they look for evidence. As of Friday afternoon, nothing had been found.
"We're just praying the whole family gets closure and the the community comes together and prays for that result," Sheila said.
