Delaware County man arrested after reporting accidental shooting of girlfriend

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) -- Delaware County deputies have arrested a man they say admitted to accidentally shooting his girlfriend early Friday morning.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, which was called in to assist on the case, the sheriff's office received a 911 call from an Alton home around 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, paramedics rushed Natalie Short to Grove hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to the OSBI, Short appears to have died from a gunshot wound, but the medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death after performing an autopsy.

David Alan Price was arrested for possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction. He was booked into the Delaware County Jail.
