BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (KTUL) -- A domestic disturbance in Bartlesville Wednesday ended with a deadly officer-involved shooting.

Police responded to a home on Southeast Edgewood just after 5 p.m. where they found a woman fleeing a house and a man who followed.

Police say officers tried to stop the suspect from assaulting the woman. A Taser was deployed but had no effect.

Captain Jay Hastings with BPD says the suspect started assaulting one of the officers who responded to the call, and the officer fired his weapon.

The suspect and the female victim were transported to a local hospital along with the officer, who was treated for facial wounds.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, died from his injuries.

An investigation into the shooting will be conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

This is a developing story.
