EASTER: Egg hunts, animal experiences, and more fun events for your kids

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Easter is still a few weeks away, but the Easter fun is about to begin in the area.

If you're like us, you're always looking for fun events for your kids (or cute photo opportunities). Here are a few Easter-related events going on around the city.

TULSA COUNTY PARKS EASTER EGG HUNTS

Expect lots of people and lots of eggs! The Tulsa County Parks Department is holding multiple free easter egg hunts on April 8. The Easter Bunny might even show up for pictures with your kids.

• Chandler Park Easter Egg Eggstravaganza: Chandler Park, 6500 W 21st St. in Tulsa. Ages 11 and under. 9:30-11 a.m.
• SoCo Easter Egg Hunt: South County Recreation Center, 13800 S Peoria Ave in Bixby. Ages 11 and under. 10 a.m. to noon.
• LaFortune Easter Egg Hunt: LaFortune Community Center, 5202 S Hudson Ave in Tulsa. Ages 3-8. 10-11 a.m.
• O'Brien Park Easter Egg Hunt: O'Brien Park, 6149 N Lewis Ave in Tulsa. Ages 2-12. 10:30 a.m. to noon.
• Haikey Creek Park Easter Egg Hunt: Haikey Creek Park, 11327 S Garnett Road in Broken Arrow. Ages 12 and under. 9:45-10:15 a.m.

BUNNY HUNT AT TULSA BOTANIC GARDEN

Bring your kids out April 8 for a bunny scavenger hunt and egg hunt. Crafts and bunny hunts will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and egg hunts will be staggered by age groups:

• Ages 0-4: Begins at 10:30 a.m.
• Ages 5-7: Begins at 11 a.m.
• Ages 8 and up: Begins at 11:30 a.m.

ROUTE 66 GURNEY TOURNEY

The Chapman Foundation is hosting the Route 66 Gurney Tourney on April 15. The event will include a car show, an Easter egg hunt and other activities for kids. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the University of Tulsa. Proceeds go to Hospitality House of Tulsa.

EASTER BUNNY PHOTO OPPS

There will be plenty of chances for your child to meet the Easter bunny (and for you to get an adorable photo). Here are a few:

• Breakfast with the Bunny at the Tulsa Zoo: April 15 from 9-11 a.m.
• Easter Bunny Photo Opp at Woodland Hills Mall: The Easter Bunny will be at Woodland Hills Mall through April 15. He'll be on the lower level in the center court. Here's a schedule.
• The Easter bunny will also be at the egg hunts being held by the Tulsa County Parks Department.

CHURCH-HOSTED EGG HUNTS, FESTIVALS AND OTHER EVENTS

Many churches throughout the city will be hosting Easter activities for the whole family. Tulsa Kids has compiled a short list of events here, but check with the churches in your area to see what they might have in store.
