Fort Gibson post office closed after 'minor package explosion'
FORT GIBSON, Okla. (KTUL) —
Fort Gibson police are investigating after a "minor package explosion" at the United States Postal Office.
The postal inspector was brought in to investigate. Officers say the package burst in the mail room in a bin.
No one was injured.The post office sustained a little bit of damage.
After investigation and protocols are complete, the postal inspector will release information about whether the package came from Fort Gibson or was just passing through. Postal workers told police the package was heading to another destination.
The post office is closed the rest of the day.
