FreeHer Conference works to reduce prison population
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) —
The National FreeHer Conference begins Friday and will discuss criminal justice initiatives in Tulsa and across the country.
The conference held by the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls lasts the entire weekend at Marriott Tulsa Hotel Southern Hills, ending on Sunday, Sept. 30.
Oklahoma leads the nation in incarceration, but Tulsa produces proven strategies to reduce prison population.
The conference will highlight criminal justice reform work executed across the country, even in Tulsa.
