TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) – With funding approved, all lights are green for construction to begin on a new veterans hospital in Tulsa.

The new Veterans Affairs hospital will be built in downtown at 7th and Houston on the expanded OSU Medical Center Campus.

The 275,000-square-foot, 58-bed medical-surgical hospital is slated for completion in late 2023 and should be open for patients in late 2024.

The project has previously been announced, but Congress just approved the $120 million federal appropriation for construction, and President Donald Trump gave his signature Sunday. Another $10 million in philanthropic support will fund the construction’s total price tag of $130 million, according to a news release sent Monday by the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System.
