Garage sale raising money for slain Broken Arrow teacher

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) -- Members of the Broken Arrow community are raising money this weekend for the family of a teacher who was killed earlier this month.

Shane Anderson taught at Oneta Ridge Elementary School. He died Oct. 1 during an attempted robbery. The suspect is charged with his murder as well as a host of other crimes.

On Friday and Saturday, Anderson's students and their families are holding a garage sale fundraiser and all proceeds go to his family. The garage sale fundraiser includes a bake sale, crafts, name-brand clothing and Rustic Cuff jewelry. They are also accepting donations.

The sale is at 7000 S. Chestnut Ave. in Broken Arrow between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days.
