Gathering Place is partnering with Tulsa Transit to offer a free shuttle for park guests from downtown Tulsa beginning on Friday.

The Shuttle Program will run every weekend through May and every day during Spring Break, March 16 through 20.

The shuttles will begin at 4 p.m. until the park closes on Fridays and 10 a.m. until the park closes on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours will extend to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day during Spring Break.

Buses will shuttle park guests back and forth to Williams Lodge every 15 minutes from the following downtown locations:

  • 4th and Denver
  • Tulsa Community College Metro Campus
  • Boston Avenue Methodist Church

“We are thrilled to offer free and convenient transportation to and from Gathering Place,” Tony Moore, Executive Director, Gathering Place, said. “With the help of our friends at Tulsa Transit and our three shuttle stop locations, we can fulfill our mission of providing a free and inclusive space for all Tulsans to learn and play as one.”

Tulsa Transit is providing three different Gathering Place-themed buses for the program, each highlighting different park attractions with features wrapped on the outside as well as theming and additional Park information on the inside.

“If it wasn’t enough for Gathering Place to be free to visit, it will now be free to get to from downtown,” Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “This unique partnership between Tulsa Transit and Gathering Place is connecting Downtown Tulsa and our cherished park in an exciting new way.”

The shuttle will operate on extended days and hours during the summer when park attendance is at its highest. Between June 1 and Aug. 31, shuttles will be available Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until the park closes and Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. to park close.

“We are very excited to begin this partnership with Gathering Place,” said Tulsa Transit General Manager, Ted Rieck. “Through the Vision Fund, we can now provide access to a world-renowned park, for people who in the past might not have had the opportunity to visit.”
