Human remains found in Pittsburg County
PITTSBURG COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) —
The McAlester Police Department said human remains were found Sunday night by a citizen in Pittsburg County.
Officers said the bones were found in the Cardinal Point Recreation Area near Lake Eufaula.
They said the remains were of a human partial skull and some bones.
Police said, McAlester officers, investigators, and the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office searched the area today and found green clothing near where the bones were located. They also said that the bones and clothing were found about a mile from where a missing woman's purse was discovered a year ago. Holly Cantrell, 40, has been missing since Jan. 20 after leaving work at McAlester Regional Health Center for lunch.
Police aren't certain that the clothing or remains are Cantrell's but they are investigating all possibilities.
