Law enforcement arrest police chief after finding drugs in his home
HARTSHORNE, Okla. —
The District 18 Drug Task Force arrested a Green Country police chief and his wife Sunday after law enforcement found drugs in their home.
Investigators said a tip mentioning drug activity lead them to the home of Hartshorne Police Chief Josh Brillo and his wife Heather.
After receiving a search warrant officials said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home.
Brillo's wife claimed the drugs while he denied any involvement.
Officers said as a member of law enforcement, Brillo is held to a higher standard and should have acted.
"When it's presented to you and right in front of your face you've got to act as a law enforcement and do your job and that didn't happen in this case," said Sgt. Christ Morris, with the McAlester Police Department.
Officials said Brillo was released on a $2,500 bond and his wife was released on a $500 bond.
