Four leading Oklahoma veterans announced their joint endorsement of Joy Hofmeister for governor.

Major Pete Reed, General Myles Deering, Major General Rita Aragon, and Master Chief Larry Van Schuyver have also launched a Veterans for Joy initiative aimed at securing her win on Election Day.

“You possess the leadership, compassion and knowledge required to solve veterans’ healthcare issues, and understand the courage and sacrifices of all Oklahoma Veterans. You’ve shown a desire to embrace opportunities to improve the quality of life within the veterans’ community. We believe in Joy! However, we do not believe in Kevin Stitt,” the four veterans stated in a formal endorsement letter to Hofmeister.

The Veterans for Joy initiative will be focused on two areas:

  1. Communicating with the Oklahoma veterans’ community the "outstanding attributes, understanding, support, and commitment Hofmeister brings to veterans’ issues"
  2. Making veterans and their families aware of the "current administration’s failures" to support and provide leadership on health care issues that are desperately needed
