TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) – A film company co-founded by NBA superstar LeBron James is producing a documentary about Black Wall Street and the Tulsa Race Massacre.
The film will be directed by Salima Koroma, who tweeted this week, “The Tulsa Race Massacre is not just a black story but American history. The fabric of this country is soaked in racism and today 99 years later, we’re still fighting for change.”
This week marks the 99th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, a dark time in Tulsa’s history when a vibrant black community was destroyed by white rioters.

SpringHill Entertainment, which was founded by James and his business partner Maverick Carter, tweeted that Koroma pitched the vision for the film in April.
“We knew we had to empower her to tell that story,” reads the tweet from SpringHill Entertainment.
The company hasn’t said when the film is expected to be completed.
