TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa police say a man has been arrested after stealing a car that was pulling a boat and initiating a short police chase.
Saturday afternoon, police responded to a vehicle theft near 1st and Utica.
Officers say they learned the suspect, later identified as David Palmer, jumped in the victim's SUV and took off. The SUV was pulling a boat, and the victim's dog was still inside.
Officers spotted the SUV near 3rd and Lewis and attempted a traffic stop. Palmer stopped the SUV and then sped away twice during the short pursuit.
Palmer hit stop sticks about halfway down the road and was taken into custody afterwards.
The SUV and boat were recovered and the dog was reunited with its owner.
Palmer was carrying methamphetamine and admitted to being high.
Palmer was booked into Tulsa County Jail.
