Man dies after shooting in midtown

Tulsa police say a man has died after being shot near Gerleesa's Lounge in midtown following an after hours party early Sunday morning. (KTUL)

Tulsa police say a man has died after being shot near a club in midtown early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the Gerleesa's Lounge near East 16th Street and South Memorial Drive on reports that someone had been shot just before 4 a.m.

When they arrived at the scene they found a man 33-year-old man lying in the parking lot next to his vehicle. They say the victim was shot several times. He died while being transported to a hospital.

His identity has not been released.

Police say there were a lot of people at the club at the time of the shooting but no one came forward with any information just that when the party was ending and folks were in the parking lot someone described as a black male, 5 feet and 8 inches, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt shot the victim.

Right now investigators say they don't have a motive or any more details on a possible suspect.

This marks Tulsa's 79th homicide of 2017.
