Mannford police are looking for a man accused of leading them on a chase and trying to run over an officer.

An officer tried to stop Joshua Caudill around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday because he realized he had felony warrants out of Creek County, Police Chief Lucky Miller said. Caudill reportedly took off from the officer, starting a 17-minute chase that ended in a field.

Miller said the officer got out of his car and ran toward Caudill, but his pickup got unstuck from a rock and he tried to run over the officer and his K9. Dash cam video of the confrontation shows the officer fall down and, at one point, his legs underneath the pickup.

The officer reportedly feared for his life and fired seven shots into the passenger door of the pickup, Miller said. It's not clear if the suspect was hit by any of the gunfire.

Mannford police asked nearby hospitals to report anyone who comes in with a gunshot wound, but so far, no one has showed up.

As of now, the officer involved in the incident is not on administrative leave.
