McAlester police captain passes away

McAlester, Okla. (KTUL) — Thursday, McAlester Police Department announced the passing of Captain Richard Parker.

Parker served in McAlester for over 26 years.

The police department said he understood his role to protect and serve the community and cared deeply for McAlester's citizens and his fellow officers.

"We ask that you keep Captain Parker's family, friends, and community in your thoughts as they grieve this great loss," said the department.
