Multiple law enforcement agencies came together to solve an investigation where a man was offering indecent proposals to a 14-year-old Osage County girl.

Tahlequah native Jeremy Batey, 43, attempted to get in touch with the child during her winter holiday break.

The Tulsa Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation were informed of the incident on Jan. 8.

TPD detectives posed as Batey's intended victim in an undercover operation through Snapchat.

Batey used the app to contact and ask the girl, who happened to be a Tulsa Police detective, for sexual acts and admitted during the conversations to trying to do the same thing with her earlier in the week.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and working to find out if there are other victims.

Batey was booked into the Cherokee County Jail for Lewd Proposal to a Minor with a hold for pending federal charges.
