Pawnee County residents evacuated as multiple grass fires threatened homes

PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) — Pawnee County Emergency Management said multiple fire crews are fighting three separate grass fires in Pawnee County.

Crews had issued evacuations for all homes in the area, emergency management says, but officials lifted the evacuation orders and reopened the roads around 9:30 p.m. The mayor of Jennings opened up the senior citizens building at 3rd and Main for people who were evacuated.

Firefighters say, at one point, it was three fires that converged into one.
