New drone video shows flooding in Sand Springs neighborhood

Tulsa’s Channel 8 took up the drone Thursday to get a look at the extensive flooding in the Meadow Valley area of Sand Springs, near Highways 97 and 51.

One resident, a Channel 8 employee, has been displaced since May 21. But, he said his house sits higher than many in the neighborhood, and he’s hopeful he’s one of the more fortunate residents in that area.

So far, almost 500 homes around Highway 51 in Sand Springs have been damaged by the swollen Arkansas River.

The Channel 8 employee said Anderson Creek flowed over, flooding his area.
