TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A new tuition waiver at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa will offer north Tulsa residents up to $1,500 a year towards undergraduate tuition costs.
The North Tulsa Community Tuition Waiver is designed to assist and support students who lived in north Tulsa at the time of their graduation from high school.
"OSU-Tulsa is committed to increasing access to bachelor's degrees for our community," said Susan Tolbart, director of scholarships and recruitment at OSU-Tulsa. "This tuition waiver program will help remove financial barriers so our students can achieve their academic and career goals."
OSU-Tulsa is located in downtown in Tulsa's Greenwood District and serves as its urban branch campus.
These class schedules and workforce-responsive degree programs at OSU-Tulsa make college possible for working students trying to manage and balance their busy lives while earning a degree.
The campus is also home to he OSU College of Professional Studies, which offers bachelor's degrees in Organizational Leadership, created to help individuals advance in their current workplace.
Public Safety is also offered and was created in partnership with the Tulsa Police Department.
College Park is a partnership with Tulsa Community College to provide a structured four-year public university experience.
These are all efforts made by OSU-Tulsa to expand access to bachelor's degrees.
In order to be eligible for the tuition waiver, students must be enrolled full-time at OSU, with six of those hours being taken at the OSU-Tulsa campus.
The tuition waiver may continue into a second year if satisfactory academic progress standards are met for federal financial aid eligibility.
