New signs advertise new outlet mall for Jenks in 2020

New signs advertise new outlet mall in Jenks for 2020 (KTUL)

A sign right off the Creek Turnpike in Jenks is causing quite the stir. After years on the back burner, it seems an outlet mall is finally coming to the suburb.

"It will bring a better shopping experience," said Mike Wedel. "I'm excited about it."

"I think people will like it," said Elizabeth Ayala. "I'm very curious about it."

Ayala is a big shopper but says there aren't many places to go in the Tulsa suburb. The new outlet mall is giving her reason to stay closer to home.

"I'll be able to save more money being closer to home," said Ayala. "I think this outlet mall will do just fine here."

This is a big deal, not just for Jenks but for the whole area.

"I think it's good for the economy, and I think it will bring more jobs," said Wedel.

The city didn't want to chat with us on camera but did say the project will bring construction jobs, retail jobs and lots of tax revenue.

We reached out to the developer, Simon Company, for more details on a timeline but they haven't returned our call.
