Stillwater police officers shoot, kill suicidal man

Officer-involved shooting in Stillwater leaves 1 dead (KTUL)

A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Stillwater.

Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a man indicating he was suicidal. Police say he told a dispatcher he was armed with a gun and a knife and was planning to jump in front of traffic.

Two officers found the man walking south on North Boomer Road near Eskridge Avenue. When they approached him, he pulled out a pistol and a knife, police say.

Both officers fired their weapons at the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the man's name. He was reportedly a white male in his 30s.

Neither officer was hurt in the confrontation.

The OSBI will be investigating the shooting.
