OHP: Henryetta man dies after deadly crash in McIntosh County
MCINTOSH COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) —
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in McIntosh County.
Troopers say the crash was reported around 1:25 a.m. on Sunday on a county road just to the west of Stidham.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Christopher Gilbert of Henryetta.
According to OHP, Gilbert who was a passenger of a Polaris 900 UTV died after the vehicle was driving westbound on a county road at a high rate of speed, hit a washed out patch of the roadway and the driver lost control, overturning an unknown number of times. Gilbert was ejected from the vehicle; he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the UTV is expected to be OK.
OHP says the cause of the crash is due to driving under the influence.
