PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. (KTUL) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that killed Pawnee County Undersheriff Monty Johnson.
Troopers say Johnson was driving his marked patrol car on Highway 18 around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday when he was hit head-on.
The driver of the other vehicle veered over the center line and struck his patrol car.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
