A sad post on the OKCPD Facebook page announced the passing of one of their K-9 officers.

MSgt. Dan Evan's K-9 partner Doc lost his battle with an aggressive form of cancer Thursday evening.

Friends, family, and fellow K-9 handlers were with Doc when he passed away according to the Facebook post.

Doc honorably served the citizen of Oklahoma City for seven years starting in 2012.

MSgt. Evans and Doc were assigned to the Southwest Division working on the graveyard shift.

Doc was responsible for 86 criminal apprehensions and the seizure of approximately 78 pounds of narcotics and over $25,000 during his career.

OKCPD said, "even though Doc was a brave warrior at work and loved his job, during his off-time he was an affectionate and beloved member of his family."

The OKCPD thanks Doc for his dedication and service to the community. Their prayers go out to MSgt. Evans and his family during their time of loss.
