TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The Oklahoma Aquarium announced Thursday that it has partnered with The Sustainability Alliance to promote "TerraScore", a personal sustainability app that will help users find specific, local actions they can take to help make the world more sustainable.
The app is free, and groups actions that can be taken by their positive impact on people, profit or the planet.
“We believe strongly in the mission of The Sustainability Alliance and in the positive impact this app can have on our community and the natural world. We are excited to partner with The Sustainability Alliance to enhance our guests' experiences and provide them with the tools and resources they need to make a positive impact on the planet," said Dr. Ann Money, Director of Development & Research at the Oklahoma Aquarium.
Signs have been placed throughout the Oklahoma Aquarium to remind guests to "think blue to go green," with helpful conservation tips and a QR code to download "TerraScore"
Money says she was amazed at how gun the app was when they were putting it together.
"The things I found that were some exciting to me, were there were so many actions that I had never thought of, and this is what I do," said Money. "So it was amazing to be able to have more that I could put in my toolkit to be sustainable."
The Sustainability Alliance is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainability and environmental conservation.
App users can also meet up with others in the area looking to make a difference, and win real and virtual prizes through sustainability challenges.
