OSBI: Officer shot by pedestrian while driving in Clinton

An officer is in good condition after being shot Thursday in Clinton.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reports that at approximately 3 p.m. Dec. 7 a Clinton Police Department Detective Mike Murley was searching for 41-year-old Alfonso Rios in the area of 3rd and Hayes. Rios allegedly stepped out to the street and began firing at the detective. Murley was able to return fire and Rios fled.

The detective was struck once in both arms by the gunfire. Rios was later apprehended.

Murley was transported to a local hospital and then later transferred to a facility in Oklahoma City.

OSBI agents have been called in to investigate the incident.
